Titania has just been awarded a contract by Navantia to carry out destructive testing of welding test coupons, for the Spanish public company’s headquarters in the Bay of Cadiz. The awarding of this new contract means Titania is taking another step forward in its positioning in the naval sector, for which it already provides specialised services through tests on welding, analysis and certification of naval steel, and tests on naval paint, among others. This Cadiz-based company from Cadiz, located in the Tecnobahía Technology Park in El Puerto de Santa María and specialised in the aerospace sector, holds the certification required by the naval industry from the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC).
In order to position itself in this sector, the company has developed several R&D+i projects, with research focused on corrosion protection systems for wind turbine support structures, additive manufacturing and the use of composite materials for the naval industry.
For Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, Titania’s Director, “the awarding of this contract is the result of our strategy of diversification and reorientation of Titania’s services towards other sectors, beyond the aeronautical industry. Our activity in the naval sector continues to grow, thanks to the important catalogue of technological capacities that we can place at its service.”
