The consortium taking part at the “Optimization and scale-up of the final sealing of Sulfuric Acid Anodizing employing Design of Experiments – SEALANT” project, coordinated by Titania, met last July 13 at Toulouse. This follow-up meeting had the objective of analyzing the results obtained during the first year of the execution of the project, since its launch in July 2016, as well as setting the new challenges for the coming months and coordinating the actions of the different partners involved.
The main research objectives of SEALANT are to optimize the processing parameters, economic costs and environmental impact of the sealing process in Sulfuric Acid Anodizing (SAA) treatments as robust alternatives Chromic Acid Anodizing (CAA) , with the idea of adapting these processes to the REACH (European Union Regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) regulation.
SEALANT is the first European project in which Titania not only participates but assumes the role of coordinator during the two years of the program.
