Our mechanical testing laboratory is ENAC accredited. The mechanical properties of aluminium alloys, titanium alloys, low alloy steels, stainless steels, nickel alloys and copper alloys are tested and studied. Tests are also performed on welded metal joints. Annually, we carry out more than 1800 tests related to the characterisation of the mechanical properties of metallic materials.

The laboratory is equipped with different universal testing machines incorporating load cells with capacities ranging from 1 KN to 1000 KN. These machines are equipped with chambers in which tests can be performed at ambient and non-ambient temperatures in the range of -70 ˚C and 200 ˚C. We also have a Charpy pendulum for studying the toughness of metals, with which tests can be carried out both at room temperature and at low temperatures with a capacity of up to 300 J. Finally, we have a semi-automatic universal digital hardness tester with the capacity to perform tests on Rockwell, Vickers and Brinell scales.

In the area of mechanical testing of metallic materials, our quality system includes 20 standardised procedures. These tests are accredited by ENAC and NADCAP, and approved by Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer and Sikorsky.

Using these procedures, we perform the following mechanical tests on metallic materials: Flattening, pin-type bearing test of metallic materials, shear testing, hardness, vickers hardness, notched bar impact testing of metallic materials, staking retention test on bearings, microhardness hv1, torque-off, bend testing of metallic material, verification of testing frame and specimen alignment, tension testing of metal round specimen, tension testing of metal rectangular specimen, tension testing of metal rectangular specimen with curvature, tension testing of metal tubular specimen and tension testing on welds of metal rectangular specimen.
