Airbus has again shown its confidence in Titania with the approval of the Orange Peel test. This is a test that determines defects on the surface of painted structures that are charactersed by the presence of visual irregularities giving the appearance of orange peel.
The qualification of this test is an extension of the approved Titania capabilities included in the Airbus Qualified Test Method List (QTML).
The Airbus QTML list is public and gathers information on all accredited tests from each of the laboratories authorised by Airbus worldwide.
This approval completes the visual charactersation tests already approved, such as the determination and difference in colour or gloss of industrial paints. Additionally, Titania also has approvals for physical tests such as the determination of adhesion or scratch resistance and resistance tests for liquids such as water, fuels or hydraulic fluids.
