The 15th edition of the National Congress of Materials took place on 4-6 July at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Salamanca, under the framework of its VIII centenary. Titania, as a leading expert in materials testing, did not miss this important meeting in the sector in which more than 350 experts have brought together. In our case, we have presented a couple of oral communications directly related to the progress we are making in two ongoing research projects: DuplexFin and SMART ROBOTICS.

The presentation called “FEM simulation of duplex steel lamination process”, has focused on the simulations performed by Finite Element Methods (FEM) during hot rolling for duplex steel alloys. This research is part of the DuplexFin project, which seeks to improve the current manufacturing efficiency of duplex steels.

The second presentation, entitled “Characterization of Accelerated Cured Liquid Shim for Automated Application”, is part of the set of research that Titania is carrying out within the SMART ROBOTICS project, which studies the technological elements necessary to achieve flexible low-cost automated solutions for the assembly of aerospace structural elements.

The 15th National Congress of Materials has also addressed other topics related to the advanced characterization of materials, science and surface engineering for advanced applications, processing of materials by laser, light materials, and processing of powdered and sintered materials by non-conventional routes.
