The independent technology SME has received a visit from El Puerto de Santa María’s Councillor for Business and the Self-Employed as part of the EL PUERTO EMPRESAS Programme.

The Cadiz-based company Titania, which specialises in aerostructure materials and processes, was visited on 26 September by the City Council of El Puerto de Santa María’s Councillor for Business and the Self-Employed, Carmelo Navarro Careaga. The councillor toured the company’s laboratories to see first-hand the different types of tests carried out, which cover all the materials used in the aerospace industry, as well as the different lines of research being developed through national and international R&D projects.

The councillor was accompanied during the tour by Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Chacón, Director, Virginia Gómez Pérez, Head of HR and Communication, and Ana Rodríguez Chacón, communication technician.

The visit took place as part of the EL PUERTO EMPRESAS Programme, which is aimed at companies from different sectors that stand out for their track record and innovation and that contribute to the development of the local economy, generating activity and employment.

Titania serves as a local example of what can be achieved, since the company has demonstrated its unstoppable commitment to knowledge and technological development, becoming a benchmark of excellence in the Andalusian business network by focusing its activity on research projects in the field of materials science. In fact, last June it was recognised as an SME of Industrial Excellence in the 15th Edition of the Awards for Excellence in Andalusian SMEs granted by the Joly Group and Caixabank, for strengthening and promoting the progress of the Andalusian productive fabric.

The company’s vision of being a benchmark in the industry has led to an entrepreneurial project that emerged in Cadiz with no public or private funding, and that now exports its services to more than 30 countries around the world and is providing employment to more than 95 people, most of them trained at the University of Cadiz or in the province’s vocational technology training modules.

The councillor was received by the company’s staff and highlighted “the company’s commitment not only to business excellence, but also to staff welfare and social progress.”

For his part, the director of Titania, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Chacón, shared his view that “the positioning of the company as an independent technological SME lies in having developed a business model based on two pillars: knowledge and excellence in management, without forgetting the environment in which it operates.”
