The awards ceremony of the VIII Edition of the Cadiz 2024 SME Awards was held last Tuesday 4th June at the Centro Empresarial de Jerez. These awards are given by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce of Jerez de la Frontera, the Chamber of Commerce of Campo de Gibraltar and Banco Santander, with the collaboration of Diario de Jerez. The prizes recognise the work of small and medium-sized enterprises in the province of Cadiz as generators of employment and wealth. The programme has five award categories: SME Company of the Year and four runners-up: Internationalisation, Digitalisation and Innovation, Training and Employment, and Sustainable SME.
Titania received the runner-up prize for Internationalisation in the VIII Edition of the Cadiz 2024 SME Awards. The Cadiz-based company is a benchmark of excellence in the industrial sector. Its activity is focused on the development of research projects in the field of materials science applied to address challenges within the ecological transition, the green economy and industry 4.0. In terms of business opportunities, since 2012, it has been exporting its services to 30 countries around the world. Its global market strategy has meant that in the last two years its international turnover has accounted for more than 50% of its total income, and this involves attracting economic activity to the province of Cadiz to the tune of almost 2.5 million euros. The company is in full growth and continues to explore new opportunities to expand its presence in non-European markets such as Morocco and India through TRADE Agency.
The event was attended by Fernando Serrano Collantes, Head of Business Development, and Virginia Gómez Pérez, Head of Human Resources and Communication. Fernando Serrano shared a few words during the award ceremony, in which he pointed out the importance of having more industry in our region, so that new business projects such as titania’s can develop. He also highlighted the company’s vision of ‘wanting to be a reference laboratory for the aeronautical sector at an international level’.
Finally, he pointed out how motivating it is for our entire organisation to see that international projects with companies and multinationals from more than 30 countries are managed from titania by technologists trained in the province’s educational centres and at the University of Cadiz. In short, most of our people have their origins and links in the municipalities of our province.
The event was attended by representatives of the administration such as the mayoress of Jerez, María José García-Pelayo, the sub-delegate of the government, Blanca Flores, as well as the presidents of the Chambers of Commerce of Jerez, Cádiz and Campo de Gibraltar, Javier Sánchez Rojas, Ángel Juan and Carlos Fenoy, respectively.
