The DuplexFin project, in which Titania participates together with the Acerinox and Teams companies, seeks to cover the demand of the sector for duplex steels in applications requiring low thickness, improving the current manufacturing efficiency of these materials.

During more than a year of research, Titania has been responsible for conducting statistical studies on the process data of this type of steels, studying especially the conditions to which the edges of the material are subjected during hot rolling for duplex steel alloys. Likewise, we have worked with simulations carried out by FEM (Finite Element Methods), an increasingly relevant method in the industry that can provide data that is not physically achievable and that helps a better understanding of manufacturing processes.

The results obtained are quite positive and are oriented even to the formulation of new materials.
